BID2WIN Software was founded in 1993. From the beginning we have been dedicated to building the best, most
robust and full featured heavy construction management tools money can buy, while providing our customers with
unmatched service and support.
A brief history:
- In 1994, we created the first approved estimating program to produce computer-generated bid sheets for
Massachusetts and New Hampshire highway authorities and DOTs.
- In 1995, we introduced PowerBid, the first estimating program designed exclusively for paving companies in North America.
- In 1998, we rolled out BID2WIN Estimating & Bidding—the first and only construction estimating program
built from the ground up for the Windows operating environment. In its first year, BID2WIN Estimating &
Bidding achieved international recognition as the construction industry’s solution of choice for powerful cost
estimating made simple.
- In January 2000, we unveiled an enhanced version of BID2WIN Estimating & Bidding to prominent industry
representatives at the first BID2WIN Software User Conference.
- In 2001, we began a massive development effort to create the next generation of heavy construction management
software employing Microsoft .NET and its powerful database engine, SQL Server.
- In December 2004, we announced the release of BID2WIN 2005—the culmination of a three-year, multi-million dollar development effort to re-engineer the existing application using the latest Microsoft technology. As the first in our field to become a Microsoft Certified Partner, and first to embrace .NET technology for product development, our efforts have led to a solution with an unprecedented level of power, performance, and flexibility, establishing it as the benchmark in estimating and bidding.
- In 2007, we unveiled the first suite of powerful, enterprise-class construction management tools that
synergistically combine estimating and bidding with real-time field data management, providing unmatched
ease-of-use, accuracy and control over the most mission critical management processes in the company.
- In 2008, we released BUILD2WIN Field Tracking—the first browser-based solution to provide real-time tracking and analysis of job cost and project data, built on Microsoft .NET and SQL Server technology and designed to integrate seamlessly with BID2WIN Estimating & Bidding and all major accounting solutions.
- Throughout 2008 and 2009, we continued to improve and expand BID2WIN and BUILD2WIN, adding over 80 new enhancements and features in the release of BID2WIN 2009, as well as four updated versions of BUILD2WIN.
- In 2010, we introduced the all-new BUILD2WIN Integrated Construction Management Suite, with three integrated, web-based modules—Field (field tracking and analysis), Logistics (resource planning and dispatching) and Maintenance (equipment maintenance and repair management)—sharing one common database, and allowing all departments to share real-time information on the status of their resources. The BUILD2WIN Integrated Construction Management Suite was debuted at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in March of 2011.
- In May 2011, we released BID2WIN 2011 and BUILD2WIN Field version 2.3, adding many new user-requested features and enhancements to both products.
- In June 2011, we released the second module of the BUILD2WIN Integrated Construction Management Suite—BUILD2WIN Logistics. This browser-based resource planning and dispatching module was designed to stand alone or work in combination with BUILD2WIN Field and/or BUILD2WIN Maintenance (when available) as an integrated suite.
- In June 2011, BID2WIN Software's headquarters office moved to a brand-new location on the waterfront of historic downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
- In December 2011, we introduced BizBid, a revolutionary solution that will dramatically advance subcontractor and material vendor RFQ management. BizBid is currently in development and is planned to be released at the end of the first quarter of 2012.
